Guy Rawkes
The Name
“Guy Rawkes”
A play on the historical icon “Fawkes”.
Someone who was known for his anti-establishment philosophy, he went on to be a symbol of rebellion and inspired the “Anonymous” movement.
In musical context “Rawkes” aims to provide a non-conformist approach to the art form without care for individual recognition.
Music meant to promote thought and introspection…
there’s plenty of shit to turn up to out there
Producer, Writer, Artist
“The song “Overcome” was recorded in 2021. It is on the 2nd beat I ever produced. The years that followed consisted of making beats, writing music, & recording tracks periodically through life’s changes.
The intention was to use music expressively, but there would be no point of spending time and effort creating without putting things out.
I decided everything would be released in chronological order leaving imperfections at each stage intact.”
Guy Rawkes started releasing music in ’24.

“La Solución”
The next string of singles would have been what makes up
“Rough Cuts Vol. 2”.
But life can sometime alter your course…
The original plan of releasing chronologically would be interrupted by a reflective project.
While spending time in the hospital dealing with the imminent loss of a parent, I wrote down a poem. I never planned for it to be made into a song, but at one point during the grieving process I made an instrumental that called me to do it. That track is called “Miracle”.
That track, which serves as the projects intro, inspired me to cook up a whole project to memorialize my Pops. It is a journey through my personal history of life, the grieving process, and determination to push through any obstacle. The project is titled “La Solución”.
The title comes from one of my father’s many nicknames.
A man who elevated from the lower class in Dominican Republic, and went on to help everyone around him. It translates to “The Solution”. This one’s for you OG.
